The story depicts the moral conflicts of life through two parallel stories exploring the cycle of pain and salvation in each story. Set in the background of Varanasi, the film follows the lives of Devi, a woman caught in a sexual encounter and the subsequent harrasment of the police and that of Deepak, a lower-caste college student deeply in love with an upper-caste girl.
